Review the knowledge framework to get the most out of the following information.

The knowledge framework is a way to compare and contrast areas of knowledge. Page 28 of the subject guide lists the five elements of the knowledge framework :

  • scope, motivation and applications
  • specific terminology and concepts
  • methods used to produce knowledge
  • key historical developments
  • interaction with personal knowledge.

Some of the Prescribed Titles have key terms that have direct links to one of the five parts of the Knowledge Framework

Even if links between your prescribed title and the knowledge framework are not immediately obvious, you will be able to find them with a bit of digging. Answering each of the following questions carefully will help with this.

  1. What are the key terms in your prescribed title?
  2. How are the key terms in your prescribed title linked to the five elements of the knowledge framework?
  3. Which AOKs are you going to write about in your essay?
  4. How is your prescribed title linked to the knowledge framework for your AOKs?
  5. How is your prescribed title linked to the knowledge framework for your AOKs and your real life examples?

As you move down the above list you should be able to identify more specific links between your prescribed title and the knowledge framework. You should be able to deepen your analysis as a result.
